Cathedral

Gloucester Cathedral began as an Abbey in 679 AD, founded by King Osric and dedicated to St. Peter. The current Norman-style building started construction in 1089 under Abbot Serlo. The Cathedral is home to the largest stained glass window in Britain and held the only coronation outside Westminster Abbey since 1066. The choristers of Gloucester Cathedral are educated at King's, further enhancing the school's rich musical education and history.
